The two layers this repository is built around, and which file belongs to which.

Doxygen has no way to infer the boundary from the include graph, so it is declared here once rather than repeated in every header: adding a header to a layer is one line in this file.

The boundary itself is normative and is argued in ADR-0001, docs/adr/0001-kernel-adapter-boundary.md, which this site publishes.
